Coming from a farming family, Tsewang Gyatso is equipped with the traditional knowledge of Himalayan agriculture. To support all the local farmers and local food artisans Gyatso along with other farmers formed the first ever farmers collective in his village Garze Drango Negey. Gradually strengthening supplier production capacity and improving the logistical difficulties, Himalayan Farmstead was established to market local agro-products securing premium prices for the farmers collective.

Growing up in a multi-cultural background and a collector of experiences, Sonam firmly believes and advocates the sustainable lifestyle which is also the way of life of nomads and farmers on the plateau. She encourages more people to adopt sustainable living and join this global movement of a smarter way of life. Sonam is also the founder of Kadhak Organics, a sustainable lifestyle brand located on the highland plateau Litang Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture.

Tsering Sonam 3rd generation farmer from Drango Zongpa Village. As the eldest son Tsering decided to stay back in his village and work on cultivation of their family farms alongside his mother. As for now their farm grows organic barley, potatoes, wheat, canola, apples and beans. Tsering like to share his farming experience with others while broaden his abilities to advocate for and strengthen local small-scale farmers. Determined to bring practical solutions to developmental challenges for the local farmers practicing organic farming.
